On Thursday, April 11, 2024, a Press Event was held with great success in the Maistros room, at The Met Hotel, in Thessaloniki. This event is part of the program “Information and Promotion Actions for Fruit and Vegetables in the EU Internal Market”, with the distinctive title MEDITERRANEAN COMBO. The implementing bodies are seven Organizations of Producers of horticultural products from Greece and the Spanish Lotus Association from Spain. Through the actions of the program, European horticultural crops and the persimmon are promoted and displayed in four target countries, namely Greece, Spain, Hungary and Germany.
During the event, the public was informed about the safety, quality and nutritional value of fresh European vegetables and persimmons, as well as the strict European protocols followed by producers regarding food quality and safety. On the panel of the event, Mr. Xenophon Douloumis from the Horticultural Cooperative of the Municipality of Ierapetra “Anatoli”, Mr. Georgios Chalkias, President of the Agricultural Cooperative of Horticultural Producers of Kountouras and Mr. Lluis Perez from Spanish participated in the panel of the event Association of Kaki. Furthermore, from the side of the company NOVACERT EPE, which in collaboration with the Italian company BLANCDENOIR have the role of the executive organization, the Director of the Promotion and Promotion department, Ms. Maria Nalbanti. The main speaker of the event was Mr. Spyridon Mamalis, Professor at the Department of Business Administration and Technology of the International University of Greece, who emphasized the importance of fruits and vegetables in our daily diet.
The event was honored with the presence of a large number of people from the agri-food sector, who had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers after the presentation. After the Press Event, there was a dinner with a variety of dishes, the main ingredients of which were the promoted products of the program.
